System Requirements

Below is a listing of the required and recommended hardware specifications to run Envision. If you have any questions, please contact us and we can help with reviewing your current hardware, or make specific recommendations.

Workstation Minimum

  • Microsoft Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7
  • Intel Dual Core Processor 1.8Ghz or better
  • 1GB of RAM for Windows XP and 2GB of RAM for Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • 80 GB Hard drive or better @ 7200 RPM or faster
  • 15” or larger monitor capable of 1024 x 768 resolution
  • 10 / 100 Ethernet Card for Networking
  • UPS (Uninterrupted Power Source) battery backup

Workstation Recommended

  • Microsoft Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7 (64bit optional)
  • Intel Dual Core Processor 2.4Ghz or better
  • 2GB of RAM for Windows XP and 3GB of RAM for Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • 160 GB Hard drive or better @ 7200 RPM or faster
  • 19” or larger monitor capable of resolutions 1280 x 800 or greater
  • 10 / 100 Ethernet Card for Networking
  • DSL/Cable Internet connection for training and program updates
  • UPS (Uninterrupted Power Source) battery backup

Server Minimum (4 workstations or less)

  • Microsoft Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows 2003 Server / Windows 2008 Server
  • Intel Dual Core Processor 2.4Ghz or better
  • 2GB of RAM for 32 bit OS and 4GB of RAM for 64 bit OS
  • 80 GB Hard drive or better @ 7200 RPM or faster
  • 100/1000 Ethernet Card for Networking
  • UPS (Uninterrupted Power Source) battery backup
  • * Installing other programs / services will increase cpu / memory requirement of server.

Server Recommended (5 workstations or more / large data sets / replication)

  • Microsoft Windows 2003 Server or Windows 2008 Server
  • Intel Quad Core Processor 2.4Ghz or better
  • 4GB of RAM for 32 bit OS and 8GB of RAM for 64 bit OS
  • 160 GB Hard drive or better @ 7200 RPM or faster
  • 100/1000 Ethernet Card for Networking
  • DSL/Cable Internet connection required for Replication and Online Backup Manager
  • UPS (Uninterrupted Power Source) battery backup
  • * Installing other programs / services will increase cpu / memory requirement of server
  • * 64bit server recommended for 10+ workstations.

Mac

  • Intel Mac Required
  • Apple Bootcamp or virtualization software such as Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion
  • Mac OSX 10.4.11 or higher (Parallels and VMware Fusion requirement)
  • Mac OSX 10.5 or higher (Apple Bootcamp requirement)
  • Microsoft Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7 / Windows Server 2003 / Windows Server 2008 installed as guest operating system
  • Note – 64 bit guest operating systems are not supported by all Macs
  • Minimum – 2GB of RAM with 1GB dedicated to guest operating system
  • Recommended – 4GB of RAM with 2GB dedicated to guest operating system


**Wireless networks are not recommended to connect workstations. With a wireless network, you are risking data corruption and speed issues.

A wired network is much more stable and will provide for reliable database access and speed.
