Windows 10, Envision, You!

Microsoft has made a big push to get all of their users up to their latest release of their operating system. Some of you may have even seen the update was done without you even noticing! The Envision software is 100% compatible with Windows 10. There are, however, a couple things we want to make sure you look out for when your computer does update to Windows 10.

1. Envision Access/Online Backup

Our mobile access and backup features run on services usually installed directly on your server computer. During Windows update process, these services may get turned off. Don’t worry though, we can easily assist with getting them turned back on!

2. Receipt Printer Stopped Working

Windows 10 may not recognize the drivers your receipt printer has been using prior to the update. Most times, we can assist with getting these drivers up to date for you and getting you back to printing! In some cases, you may need to contact your receipt printer’s manufacturer for the correct drivers.

3. Network/Sharing Settings

Some PCs may end up having their Network/Sharing settings set back to defaults during the update to Windows 10. Network/Sharing settings help your computers talk to each other and allow you to use Envision on multiple PCs. If you notice that you’re unable to use your workstations after updating to Windows 10, just let us know!

4. Sleep Settings

Sleep Settings are important to make sure your computers stay online and functioning when they are not directly being used. If your server computer falls asleep, you could end up losing your connection on your workstations or other services may not function properly. Just let us know and we’ll make sure your PCs stay awake for you. (All without the need of Starbucks!)

If you notice anything within Envision operating differently than it was after you’ve updated your PCs to Windows 10, give us a call and we’ll be happy to take a look at it with you!
